THE GAP IN THE MARKET AND NEED FOR ENCOURAGE MEDIA.
41% of U.S. adults that use social media have experienced some form of online bulling or harassment, and an even larger share – 66% – have seen this happen to others.
From those bullied in the last year, 37% developed social anxiety while 36% fell into depression….its effects are also associated with the development of low self-esteem, generalized anxiety, family problems, academic difficulties, delinquency, violence, and suicidal thoughts/attempts.
“Bullies” are often born after being repeatedly bullied themselves! (“Bully-victims”) They are attempting to regain a sense of power in their lives. Bullying others is a way for them to retaliate for the pain they experienced.
Social media is by far the most common venue for online harassment….58% of those who have been harassed online cited social media, vs website or text or a messaging app.
At this same time, the number of people that believe in God or turn to the Bible for comfort and support has decreased……
Nearly 10 million individuals who described themselves as “Bible-centered” is declining and have had less engagement with the Bible this last year.
